So you’ve got some boneless pork chops in the fridge, but you don’t want to fix them the same way you did last time…..
Make a casserole with them.
Ingredients:
- Two boneless pork chops
- 3-4 medium potatoes, thick slices (skin on, skin off, it’s up to you)
- 1/2 cup baby carrots
- 1/2 medium onion, rough chopped
- 4 oz. can of sliced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon Cookies Flavor Enhancer (or your favorite seasoning salt)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley flake
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- One cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Brown your pork chops in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat, about 4 minutes on that first side. Flip your chops over and add in the veggies and seasonings. Continue to let the chops brown and get a little char on the carrots, about another 4 minutes. Add the milk and put the skillet into the oven, baking all that goodness for 50 minutes. When the timer goes off, add the shredded cheese and bake for another 5 minutes or until the cheese starts to turn golden brown and delicious.
The chops become pull apart tender and the creamy sauce that’s created with the marriage of the veggies, spices and milk – complimented by the melted cheese – is just flat out tasty! If you don’t have a cast iron skillet, make sure to use one that can go in the oven. A Teflon skillet won’t do!
