I’m a hot breakfast kind of guy, my preference is some kind of breakfast meat, egg and cheese on bread, be that biscuit, croissant or tortilla.
Enter, QT Kitchens Sausage, Egg & Cheese Taco.
What the QT Kitchens cranks out is basically similar to what you can order at Taco Bell or McDonald’s and you can order it fresh, customizing it with additional ingredients beyond the sausage, egg and cheese. How you customize it however, may affect the price. Similar in size, perhaps even a bit larger than their fast food competitors, QT Kitchens calls their product a taco, but the other joints call theirs a burrito… With all of these breakfast offerings Americanized and not exactly authentic, QT calling it a taco is actually the more accurate (Burrito shells are larger than Taco shells). Perhaps the marketing folks just think “Breakfast Burrito” has a nicer ring to it, but I digress…
The question is, “Are QT Kitchens Breakfast Tacos worth buying?”
In taking that first bite, the tortilla was warm, the sausage was tasty, the eggs were fluffy, overall a nice mouthful but it was light on the cheese. The portion of egg was generous, the portion of sausage however, while adequate, was less-than-generous. I will say the portion of sausage is no less than what you’ll get at Taco Bell or McDonald’s for a similar product.
Available for $2.69, I’m giving the QT Kitchens Sausage, Egg & Cheese Taco 3 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap stars. It’s a convenient and decent tasting breakfast option (better with some salsa), but then again, you can get a breakfast ‘burrito’ at Taco Bell or McDonald’s, a similar product, perhaps a bit smaller, for $1.99. The QT Kitchens Taco is borderline repeat buy, a very Plan B option. Moving forward, I’m going to stick with the QT Kitchens Breakfast Biscuits, they’re a better deal.
