Decent presentation for a fast food offering

When it comes to the chicken sandwich wars, Arby’s can hang with anybody with this offering!

Craving a crispy fried chicken sandwich for dinner one night I stopped at my neighborhood Arby’s.  Why Arby’s and not Popeye’s or Chick-fil-A, the two restaurants considered at the top of the Chicken sandwich wars dynamic?  Popeye’s was too far of a drive from what I was out and about doing and Chick-fil-A was a consideration but the drive-thru lanes were too busy.  Arby’s, just a block from my apartment, became the fast food destination of choice.

Here’s the description of the Chicken Bacon Swiss Sandwich from the Arby’s website:  Chicken breast fried to perfection and topped with crispy pepper bacon, Swiss Cheese, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard. Served on a toasted star top bun. Your stomach will thank you for your generosity.

My stomach did thank me!

The buttermilk breaded chicken fillet was crispy and seasoned well, the bacon was crisp and delivered the pepper notes, the Swiss cheese provided a nice flavor balance along with that honey mustard which there wasn’t quite enough of, the sandwich was slightly under-dressed.  Bringing it all home was the fresh lettuce and tomato and that warm, pillowy bun, a concert of flavor performing in my mouth.

The under the lid look

To use my own adage, this sandwich is another dose of YUM!  A pleasant surprise to just how good it is, I’m giving this sandwich 5 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap stars.  Costing me a little over $7 for a combo meal, the Arby’s Chicken Bacon Swiss sandwich is a winner and it stacks up well to any other fast food chicken sandwich out there!
