Bachelor on the Cheap

These mini pretzels are addicting and ideal for a Super Bowl watch party!

It’s a super easy no bake recipe to put together, one I was given by a dear friend of mine from my working days with Public Storage.  Diane would fix me up a big batch every Christmas, which I always consumed before touching the cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (garlic salt, optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 package ranch dressing mix
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 bag of mini pretzels, about 16 ounces

Directions:

Pour oil and spices into a large Ziplock bag (one gallon size), seal and shake to mix all together.  Add in the pretzels and repeat the sealing and shaking, getting good coverage on the pretzels with the seasoned oil.  Allow to sit and let those pretzel twists absorb the oil for at least six hours, overnight is even better, turning the bag once in awhile.  The original recipe calls for garlic salt rather than garlic powder, this is a lower sodium version.  A nice flavor twist alternative to olive oil is avocado oil.

Serve in a big bowl on game day, there won’t be any leftover.

This is also a very Bachelor on the Cheap wallet friendly recipe, costing you about $3.60 for a name brand bag of pretzels like Snyder’s or Rold Gold at the mainstream grocery store, or about $2 for a discount brand like Great Value (Walmart).  The remaining ingredients you probably already have on hand.
