You’ll no longer be able to satisfy your fix for a Hot Ham and Cheese, a charbroiled burger, or a scratch-made biscuit from Hardee’s in the Wichita metro.
All Hardee’s restaurants in the area have been permanently closed, those restaurant locations being:
- 3216 E Harry St, Wichita, KS 67218
- 2053 N Amidon Ave, Wichita, KS 67203
- 1320 N Tyler Rd, Wichita, KS 67212
- 2101 N Rock Rd, Derby, KS 67037
Operated by the Capstone Restaurant Group out of Boulder, Colorado, the restaurants were closed Monday afternoon, April 17, 2023.

According to the Derby location and an employee wishing to remain anonymous, there has been no explanation for the sudden closure by the franchisee, Capstone Restaurant Group and the communication since the closure has been poor. There won’t be any severance pay for employees, but if more hours for the pay period are desired employees can assist with cleaning the restaurants. A call to the corporate office has not been returned.

This is the second time Hardee’s has vacated Wichita. Back in 1995, all area restaurant locations were closed in a similar fashion and the metro was without a Hardees for over 20 years. The restaurant came back to the area in 2016 under a different franchisee.
