I’ve been craving chicken of some sort the last couple days and didn’t feel like interrupting my day of running errands to cook, so for lunch today I stopped in my neighborhood Spangles to try their new Saucy Boneless Wings.
Here’s the description from the Spangles Facebook page: Premium all white meat, sauced to perfection and available in 4 delicious flavors – Buffalo Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Thai Chili, Honey BBQ and Oriental. Try them today!
Basically, we’re talking some sauced up chicken tenders….. I went with the Buffalo Garlic Parmesan option on this visit.
My carry-out order cost $6.44 for 12 ‘wings’ and let me tell you, these things are pretty tasty! The chicken was cooked perfectly – it’s tough to screw that up, deep fried and on a timer – the breading provided a nice crunch with each bite and that sauce had a really good Buffalo flavor, nicely balanced, not overpowering. The Parmesan provided a complimentary note but the garlic flavor was a bit weak. Overall, I’m giving Spangles Saucy Boneless Wings 4 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap stars. These ‘wings’ are satisfying, reasonably priced, a repeat buy and I’m looking forward to trying the other flavors.
The Spangles visited on this occasion is located at 1240 S Rock Rd, Wichita, KS 67207. The service was friendly and fast, the restaurant clean. I was in and out with my to-go order in less than five minutes.
