A perfect crust and a pie that’s LOADED with meat!

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve had a Godfather’s pizza, they’re actually my go-to if I’m going to order from a chain pizza joint, but in the last couple years, I’ve always tried to buy local.  Not only is that supportive and keeping more dollars in the community, but you flat out get better pizza with a quality local establishment.

But on a recent road trip to Minnesota and deciding to stay in the hotel room and get some work done on the laptop, I decided on pizza for dinner and not knowing whether or not a local place would be any good, looked for a Godfather’s in the area.

Eureka!  I found a Godfather’s Pizza just two blocks from my hotel in Red Wing, MN.

I ordered an All-Meat Combo, which includes pepperoni, beef, sausage, ham, Italian sausage and bacon bits.  And while I’m typically a thin crust kind of guy, I do also appreciate the original Godfather’s crust.  When done right it’s golden brown with a light, crispy exterior and a flaky, fluffy interior with buttery notes.

My pizza was delivered in about 30 minutes and IT WAS STELLAR!

The picture says it all.  Godfather’s does NOT skimp on the toppings.  All the flavor notes for a meaty pizza were there, the pie was prepared perfectly and I have nothing bad to say about it at all.  I might just have to start ordering Godfather’s a bit more frequently, because it was really very, very good and would compete with some of my favorite local pizza places.  I had kind of forgotten just how good Godfather’s is.

Costing me about $30 total for a medium All-Meat Combo Pizza with a side of garlic bread (4 slices), delivery fee and tip, this wasn’t the most wallet friendly meal but it was a VERY tasty one and I had leftovers for breakfast AND a snack!  So if you average it out, it’s actually not a bad cost per meal.  I’m giving Godfather’s and their All-Meat Combo Pizza 5 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap stars.  In my book, Godfather’s is THE best national chain pizza joint out there and the All-Meat Combo is most definitely a repeat buy!  It hits all the pizza taste points!
