No, I’m not talking salad.  While eating some rabbit food is nutritionally sound, that won’t last you until dinner.

If you’re a working person, you don’t need a big lunch.  You’re busy after all, distracted by work.  All your body needs is a little refuel, some protein to hold you until dinner.   Don’t go for the sandwich, a.k.a. bun AND fries with lunch, that leads to a carb crash in the middle of the afternoon…   Stay away from sugary sodas, that only compounds the mid-afternoon crash problem.  Refuel with some straight protein and you won’t have the crash.

Today, I’m going to have a grilled chicken breast for lunch, topped with a little steak sauce.  That’s it, no sides required.  That chicken breast is going to provide me with 25 grams of protein and the only carb, count it, one, comes from the steak sauce along with just one gram of sugar.

Compare that to the typical 56 grams of carbs in a serving of fries and another 23 grams of carbs in a typical hamburger bun.  That’s 79 grams in carbs and a big time contributor to that mid-afternoon zombie crash!

In addition to avoiding the zombie crash, you’ll save some cash too!  Eating light for lunch and focusing on the protein means you’re not spending money on those fries, the soda, nor are you likely to reach for a bag of chips later in the afternoon.

Ditch the bun, ditch the fries…….   Eat mor chikin!   Yes, I went there…..
