Can you eat for a week on just $50?
Breaking it down by the day, that’s about $7.14 per day or $2.38 per meal.
It’s Day 6 and time for breakfast. It’s a day off for me and I have the luxury of time so I’m going to cook. Needing to do something with some hamburger buns that are getting closer to expiration, I decided on a breakfast sandwich. I fried up two eggs over easy with some jalapeno salt and pepper and topped them with two slices of American cheese. I then threw some black forest ham in the pan and toasted up a hamburger bun dressing it with garlic and a little more of that jalapeno salt – I love that stuff! The sandwich was delightful. This meal only cost me about $1.89 to include a couple cups of coffee.
Meal totals for the day:
Breakfast: $1.89
Under budget so far for the day.
Cumulative total for the Challenge:
Day 1: $7.25 Day 2: $6.90Day 3: $6.55Day 4: $4.21Day 5: $6.90
Day 6: 1.89
Grand Total: $33.70 so far and under budget! I’ve been eating well, dining in, to go orders, burgers, Chicken Teriyaki, breakfast sandwiches, having some veggies too…. I’m off to a good start on Day 6, it looks like I’m going to handle this challenge without having to break out the Ramen!
