Darfur NFI & ES Sector Update - June 2008

- In June, 32,701 households were served with non-food items (NFIs) from the NFI Common Pipeline in Darfur, to whom 98,429 items were distributed. 129,515 households have been supported in the first half of 2008 with a total of 784,510 items.
- UNJLC, as the Sector Lead for the Non-Food Item (NFI) and Emergency Shelter (ES) Sector, advocated for and secured US$646,000 in the 2008 2nd Allocation of the Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF) for Sector activities. Allocation to Sector partners has been finalized on a no-objection basis. Details are show in the Current NFI & ES Sector Funding Status chart.
- The NFI Common Pipeline was separately allocated US$1.625 million from the 2nd CHF Allocation, specifically dedicated to procurement of life-saving NFI stocks for the Darfur and Rest of North Sudan regions.
