South Sudan PCODES
UNJLC has developed a PCODE Settlement Locator for South Sudan.
PCODES are unique location identification codes. For each settlement, the locator lists its State, County and Payam, together with its PCODE. These codes are based on the established Sudan Inter-Agency Mapping (SIM) boundaries - available at http://www.unsudanig.org/sim/index.php.
When collecting or recording settlement information, please also supply the settlement PCODE. This will ensure consistency and avoid confusion where multiple settlements have the same name or multiple spellings.
The list is not exhaustive, so if there are settlements missing, please email sudan.maps@unjlc.org the details together with GPS coordinates, and the list will be updated.
