1. AIR OPERATIONS:

  • TOTAL FLIGHTS ex DMK (24th May – 7th July): 130
  • The Ilyushin 76 remains grounded due to technical problems. A replacement
has not yet been found. The Antonov 12 continues to fly two rotations per day,
but for the moment the airbridge is functioning at reduced capacity.
  • Capacity has been reached for the airbridge to Yangon up until its end date
of August 10th. No more cargo movement requests (CMR) can currently be
accepted for transport from Bangkok to Yangon by air.
o Organizations should now to bring cargo directly into Myanmar by
    their own means.
  • 2 airbridge flights arrived today July 7th: 2 flights (one for WVI, WHO and WFP
with 5.2 mt of water purification units, vials and ICT equipment, one for ACF
with 5 mt of cooking sets).
  • Planned for tomorrow July 8th: 2 flights (one for Malteser and one for WVI,
Merlin, World Concern, IOM and UNICEF).
  • Daily flight updates are available on the Logistics Cluster website at
    www.logscluster.org/mm08a.

HELICOPTER OPERATION:

  • Moving non-food items to forward locations remains a priority for the Logistics
Cluster. Organizations wishing to deliver priority NFI to hard-to-reach locations
by helicopter are invited to file a cargo movement request to this effect.
Despite a reduction to five helicopters, the air operation is optimizing capacity
and retains the ability to fill the majority of current requests.
  • Total number of locations reached up to the 7th of July: 101
  • Total rotations: 576
  • Planned for tomorrow: 4 helicopter distributions carrying shelter kits for WVI,
jerricans and sleeping mats for MSF-H and food for WFP.
  • Rotations planned for tomorrow July 8th: 16
  • As of July 6th, 654.8 mt of food and NFI have been delivered by helicopter to
    hard-to-reach locations.
  • Daily helicopter flight information can be found on www.logscluster.org/mm08a.

2. CLUSTER OPERATIONS UPDATE

  • For cargo being loaded for onward movement at the Yangon warehouse,
notification must be given in advance and trucks must be at the warehouse
by 4 pm at the latest or loading will not take place that day
  • If an organization has its own warehouse capacity in Yangon, cargo arriving
via the Logistics Cluster airbridge from Bangkok must now be stored in that
facility and no longer the Logistics Cluster warehouse.

3. ROADS AND WATERWAYS:

  • The road to Labutta will remain open through the rainy season for trucks of 5
    mt.
  • One boat left on Saturday 5th for Bogale and Set San with 350 mt of goods for
    CARE and MSF-CH.
  • Two boats left on Sunday 6th for Labutta, one with 300 mt of cargo for Merlin,
